Health Projects Center

Organization Mission

Health Projects Center supports people as they age to live safely at home by delivering high quality services and programs in the Monterey Bay region.

We seek a community where people age at home with dignity and good health. We seek a community where all people receive supportive health and social services in the least restrictive environment possible.

The Big Idea 2022:
Aging at Home with Dignity

To help people to age safely at home with dignity, we will:

1. Manage health care and supportive services for medically frail, low‐income elders.
2. Support family caregivers to provide quality care to their loved ones, and to take care of their own physical and mental health.
3. Transition low-income people from institutional living to home.
4. Strengthen the health care workforce to effectively address geriatrics and in‐home care management.

We are also working to educate older adults about COVID‐19, and facilitate access to vaccination. We collaborate with the County of Santa Cruz to provide in-home vaccination to frail, older local residents.

Health Projects Center has helped me very much, I feel in control of the situation, I feel more positive, less stress and less overwhelmed. I have a better understanding of dementia...it has been wonderful having this program.

We’re In This Together

Nonprofits are more important that ever in this trying time. Santa Cruz Gives! was created to support the local nonprofit community's Big Ideas (and programs). And thanks to your participation and generosity, Santa Cruz Gives! raised over $1.10 million for 82 local nonprofits in 2021.

SCGives! has now raised and contributed over $36 million dollars since its inception Seven years ago. That’s astounding. And wonderful. Thank you to all our Partners, Sponsors, nonprofit Board Directors, staff and volunteers — and each of our 1,455 donors. We did it, together.
