Camphill California

Organization Mission

Camphill California is a nurturing, dynamic residential community in Soquel where a dedicated group of individuals of all abilities lives, learns, and works together.

We provide diverse, affordable housing for adults with disabilities, as well as students, elders and families of all abilities. More than 50 people on eight properties share community spaces, organic gardens, and rich opportunities for connection and collaboration among residents, neighbors and volunteers. We host seasonal events, concerts, educational trainings and social gatherings (some are open to the public).

The Big Idea 2022:
Solar for a Sustainable Future

Over the past two years, we raised funds to install solar panels and batteries on all current homes and properties. In order for Camphill to provide affordable housing for aging residents, staff and volunteers, we need to build an additional home for those who wish to age in Camphill and stay in our community.

We have the funds for the building, but now all new construction in Santa Cruz County requires solar panels. Having the funds to install this will allow us to provide adequate housing, and ensure the future of our organization and the people we serve.

I can't express my heartfelt thanks enough for the support that has been provided to my son by Camphill California. As difficult as it has been to be apart from him during the pandemic, I believe my adult son has grown and matured through this experience, and has truly felt what it really means to be a full participant in the Camphill community that is like family.

We’re In This Together

Nonprofits are more important that ever in this trying time. Santa Cruz Gives! was created to support the local nonprofit community's Big Ideas (and programs). And thanks to your participation and generosity, Santa Cruz Gives! raised over $1.10 million for 82 local nonprofits in 2021.

SCGives! has now raised and contributed over $36 million dollars since its inception Seven years ago. That’s astounding. And wonderful. Thank you to all our Partners, Sponsors, nonprofit Board Directors, staff and volunteers — and each of our 1,455 donors. We did it, together.
