Center for Farmworker Families

Organization Mission

The Center for Farmworker Families (CFF) promotes awareness about the difficult life circumstances of farmworker families while proactively inspiring improvement in their financial, physical, emotional, and mental health.

CFF promotes the educational advancement of farmworkers and their families, supports projects that promote financial and nutritional well-being, examines and advocates for changes to the federal and state legal structure that governs farmworkers, and participates in research and education.

The Big Idea 2024:
Project Safe Haven: Stabilizing Farmworkers Who Have Chronic Illness

An illness can be a crippling financial burden that results in an inability to pay for rent and food consistently. With your support, Project Safe Haven would allow farmworkers to care for their family without fear of eviction and hunger.

Farmworker families often do not seek resources due to a lack of documentation or knowledge, yet due to their physically demanding jobs, stress and food insecurity, have a disproportionately high rate of chronic disease.

One such farmworker is Maria—a mother of five who was diagnosed with metastatic cancer. Maria previously supported her family picking strawberries and selling flowers on the street, however she is now in significant pain. Her overwhelming concern is for the well-being of her children and her greatest wish is to keep them fed in a safe and stable environment.

I am so grateful for any assistance the Center for Farmworker Families can provide for my family. All I want is to keep my children safe during this really hard time.
