We promote equal access to economic opportunity and transform people’s lives through entrepreneurship.
Our Loan Fund opens access to capital for Latinx women entrepreneurs often excluded from traditional lending. Nationally only 3-5% of small business loans go to Latinx women and other women of color, and Latino-owned businesses are 60% less likely to be approved by banks.
Since 2021, we’ve invested $474,500 in 18 Santa Cruz County women-led businesses, driving growth in childcare, agriculture, retail, and food. For 46 years, El Pájaro CDC has empowered underserved entrepreneurs through capital, coaching, and business support. Your support fuels equity and an inclusive local economy.
El Pájaro CDC has been an invaluable resource, providing guidance, community resources, and a loan that helped me complete the requirements for my home daycare license. Without their support, I would not have been able to finish my project.
