Housing Santa Cruz County

Organization Mission

Housing Santa Cruz County’s mission is to help all residents of Santa Cruz County secure safe, affordable, sustainable housing. We work to ensure Santa Cruz County is an inclusive, thriving, just, diverse, culturally rich and sustainable community.

Housing Santa Cruz County includes residents, labor leaders, homelessness organizations and others—and helps create housing policy, endorses and supports housing developments, educates the public about housing, and partners with cities and counties to achieve housing goals.

The Big Idea 2026:
Homes for All: Paths to Safe, Sustainable Housing

We envision a Santa Cruz County where all residents — including low-income families, seniors, veterans, farmworkers, workforce members and students — have access to safe, sustainable housing. This project will:

• support the creation of housing for all income levels — very low, low, moderate and market rate
• help with short- and long-term housing for our unhoused residents
• affect housing policy
• provide housing education and advocacy

Solving our County’s housing crisis requires that we join hands and hearts to advocate for a more vibrant, just and diverse community.

Our Cradle to Career Family Learning & Leadership Circle participants are so appreciative of the seamless support we've received from Housing Santa Cruz County. The partnership has been vital in addressing the housing needs of the families we serve.
