We create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.
Our Vision is that all youth achieve their full potential. We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.
Our Core Values include ensuring that participants develop a sense of belonging, and that we are intentional, inclusive, and genuine. We are committed to creating and cultivating a safe environment where all individuals feel respected and valued equally. We embrace a nondiscriminatory and anti-racist approach and are committed to dismantling inequities within our policies, systems, programs and services.
BBBS strives to broaden our impact through a partnership with a low-income housing community in Watsonville to provide mentorship and substantive after-school enrichment to more than 200 youth.
A professional program coordinator, with trained volunteers, will execute a thoughtfully prepared science- and art-based curriculum designed specifically for multi-age youth. We will assist with development of study skills while providing engaging activities with a foundation in science, nature, and the arts.
We began serving in one housing location in October. Our service is constrained by currently available funds. With additional financial support, we can serve more children (add two more housing locations), with greater frequency and improved outcomes.
We are grateful for all the assistance you have provided to our family over the years. This statement is one way we can give back to a program that is very important to us! We appreciate and know the extraordinary services you continue to provide for our community! My families will be thrilled to know that BBBS is back in our community!!!
