Eat for the Earth

Organization Mission

Eat for the Earth makes it easier for people to eat more plants and less animal products to sustain all life on Earth. Many people in our community are suffering from diet-caused chronic health conditions that lead to disability and early death for far too many of our loved ones. Dietary choices often also cause harm by contributing to the myriad environmental challenges we face. Eat for the Earth empowers people to respond to these crises by adopting healthy, sustainable, plant-based diets.

The Big Idea 2025:
Salud en tu Plato

Sound nutrition is crucial to good health. Latinos in our county face disproportionate barriers to health and higher rates of diet-related disease. This project is designed to be accessible, effective, and relevant for Latinos suffering from chronic disease. Most participants begin with chronic health conditions. Through a proven immersion in a whole food, plant-based diet, participants feel better quickly, and experience measurable improvements in biomarkers for health such as cholesterol, blood pressure, and fasting glucose.

Eating the healthiest human diet is so countercultural that people who want to improve their diet need evidence-based education, support, tools, and community. We provide these for anyone, from the veg-curious to vegan. Eat for the Earth partners with local organizations, receives their client referrals, prioritizes the underserved, and serves those who join us via word-of-mouth and our outreach events.

Eat for the Earth programming also includes nutrition presentations, food prep classes, potlucks, film screenings, conferences, and more. Our clients feel inspired, empowered, grateful, and nourished.

Your support can amplify our work, and for this, we are grateful!

My doctor referred me to this program to help me get off blood pressure and cholesterol medications. After changing my diet, I am now healthy and prescription-free. I have more energy. I can walk further. I’m active in my garden. I feel optimistic.
