Families In Transition of Santa Cruz County

Organization Mission

To join with other service providers in a community-wide effort to end and prevent
homelessness in Santa Cruz County. Families In Transition works in partnership with
families who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless by
providing housing opportunities and referrals to employment, training, and educational
resources to assist them in becoming self-reliant and interdependent members of the
community.

The Big Idea 2023:
Restoring Credit & Opportunity

For those who experienced housing and job insecurity during the pandemic, it
became much harder to maintain good credit scores. Our project will help families
in our program to restore their credit in order to give them a better opportunity for
housing. There are many low-income and affordable housing projects being built inour area, and in order to qualify for these units, a family will need to have good
standing credit.

Your donation will positively impact our participating families by giving them a
fighting chance at renting these much needed housing opportunities.

wouldn’t be in the place that I am now, mentally, physically, and financially. As a single mother, my priorities were only for my children. When I was pregnant with my fourth child, I didn’t have the resources to house my family. FIT helped me find everything I needed in order to be where I am now; sustaining my own home and raising my thriving family.
