The Big Idea 2026:
Affordable, High-Quality WonderWeeks Camp

Every 4–5 year old deserves a summer of wonder. With the advent of universal TK during the school year (amazing!), families unfortunately lost summer care for preschoolers and are desperate for options. Because high-quality camps are costly and out of reach for many, our Big Idea is WonderWeek camps—giving young children joyful summers of discovery, creativity, and skill-building they can’t find anywhere else.

WonderWeek camps are more than childcare—they are joyful, immersive learning experiences blending science, art, and play. Help us grow this program to meet this huge local need.

We provide play-based science, engineering, and arts education to around 50,000 people per year in our community. Research finds that this type of “guided play” can lead to stronger learning and development outcomes and stronger academic gains than formal curriculum during early childhood—a critical time to learn. We are active in school classrooms across districts from PVUSD to Soquel Unified.

Year after year, MOD offers hands-on STEAM fun—building, tinkering, art, and play that kids love. Our K students had a blast! The guided science experiment plus free exploration was the perfect combo.
