Vets 4 Vets is a Santa Cruz nonprofit made up of veterans and friends creating community and assisting our veteran brothers and sisters in need. Our objective is to fill the gap in services where veterans’ needs are not met through traditional veteran resources. These needs include emergency funds, transportation to medical appointments, moving and home repair assistance, social connection, and more.
We prevent small setbacks from spiraling into major crises when veterans fall through the cracks—waiting on delayed benefits, ineligible for existing aid, or facing urgent needs too small for larger programs. For veterans in crisis, even $250 can be life-changing.
Our Emergency Fund provides immediate relief for urgent needs—food, shelter, transportation, or car repairs—helping local veterans avoid homelessness, ease stress, and regain stability.
Last year, we provided over 70 emergency grants, each one a lifeline. With support from Santa Cruz Gives donors, this direct support builds a community of hope, connection, and belonging for veterans in Santa Cruz County.
Vets4Vets has impacted my life positively in so many ways. I was given financial help when it was so needed, assistance in obtaining housing, and affiliation with a group of veterans that have a right heart about giving back as much as I do.
