Planned Parenthood Mar Monte delivers vital health care, sex education, and information to adults and children across California and Nevada, regardless of their income, identities, immigration status, beliefs, or zip code. Funds raised through Santa Cruz Gives will support services at our Watsonville Health Center in Santa Cruz County.
Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, your local PP, serves half of California’s counties, all of Nevada, and patients from 43 states who travel to us for abortion care. The actions of some members of our government against bodily autonomy, particularly abortion care and LGBTQ+ people mean that PPMM is more important than ever. But, in July, a federal budget bill was used to defund Planned Parenthood, forcing us to close 5 of our 35 health centers — including one in Santa Cruz.
Our health center in Watsonville remains open and strong with the majority of patients low income: 92% live at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. PPMM offers in-person, phone, or video visits for many services to reduce transportation barriers, as well as providing services in languages other than English when possible.

The number of patients I’ve seen coming from out of state to receive basic health care is staggering. Utah, Nevada, Texas — so many young, scared people who have been made to feel alone for their choice to have an abortion.
